Hello and welcome. I’m Alan Elsegood, and I’d like to introduce you to the whole Elsegood family.
This is the Family Tree page for the Elsegood family. In the main, it focuses on the UK families with that name but, over the years, members of those families have migrated around the world. There are branches in Australia, South America and the USA, and probably many more that we don’t yet know about or have contact with. That, essentially, is the purpose of this site.
If you are an Elsegood, including any of the variants of that name, or have an Elsegood connection in your family tree, then I’d love to exchange information with you and see if we can establish how and where our branches of the family tree may connect. I have an Elsegood family tree on the Ancestry website, but it’s not open to everyone. I share my research with others, but on the strict understanding that genealogy research can be hard work, and sometimes expensive – running around to various libraries and archive centres, and spending money on Ancestry and other web research. So, I’m happy to help you if you will help me in return. I won’t do anybody else’s research for them, but I will share information – a bit of fair give and take. I’m also prepared to answer questions, where I can, and to give general information which may help to guide your own family research.
This website has a section of information about the family name (and many of its variants), where we came from and where we now have members, and a blog so that I can keep visitors up-to-date with any new findings and any new contacts. As I develop the site, I intend to add photographs, offer links to other family members, provide a number of contact email addresses etc., but all in such a way as to protect my personal security and everyone else’s.
